Nuts are the edible fruits and seeds of certain trees, including walnuts, almonds, hazelnuts, pecans, Brazil nuts, macadamia nuts, pine nuts, pistachios, and cashews. Peanuts are botanically different, but are often categorized with nuts for culinary purposes. Nuts are used in both savory and sweet dishes, and can be toasted, chopped, or ground into nut butters.
